starter motor up grade

I actually bought a starter from the States cant remember the model number of hand but I got the details from the thread mentioned before, I'll get around to fitting it one day when I want my empty airbox storage area back, I currently have a second battery (out of my ST1100 Honda) in there which I put in there and connected up to the main battery and have not had a starting issue since. When I do fit the Starter I intend to put much heavier Battery + and - leads on as well

Just make sure you get the one that rotates in the correct direction

i have done the ground cable, can't find a 1.4 kw starter, so i'll just do the pos cable for now and see how it goes. cheers

heavier Positive cable should help as well as one member recently found his was getting hot and solved it by fitting a heavier Positive cable

Yep that's right there would be plenty willing to help.

A few years back when I got my R3 people were having problems with the cold starts. Idea was t get a bigger battery.
I traced down to the cable connection on the starter. It had a rubber cap on it , but did not stop the corrosion from setting in. I cleaned it up and sprayed it with a batter pole protector. cold weather problem went away. started right up in just above freezing weather.
