Last week I wrote in about a problem I was having with my starter. Got some good advice to avoid the Bike bandit discount price of $737. Went to NAPA to try and find a Toyota crossover. NO Luck, The manager recommended a old time shop. Took it there. Got a complete overhaul ( including armature) for $159.99 . He even went into the Bendix found some corrosion and cleaned it up also.
I watched him tear it down. Bearings were needing replacement, along with the contacts. In short it was in bad shape.
Picked it up the next day. Not only look pretty but works great. ++++ Plus it has a 1 year warranty.
Here is the contact info
ACE Alternator & Starter Service

BTW I do not own any part of this shop.
PS Sure am grateful that the big red beast got me home and into the stand before it decided top kill the starter. Someone up there must like me , or just Irish Luck.
Thanks for the help

Glad you got it sorted. I seem to recall that the Toyota fix only cost me about $120.
With the Toyota info I got from my thread the price would have been $137.00 . Problem was that it would never have fit. When I look at the price of a new one , I fel like I am getting off good.
