Sorry but I will be limited to my I-pad

Hey, you can do a lot with an ipad. Just get a Bluetooth keyboard and typing isn't even all that painful. :)

Where do I plug the USB thumb drive that holds all my tunes/maps into?
Don't have any trouble typing on the Pad so don't need a Bluetooth keyboard

Yeah, Apple hates ports and memory slots, they want people to pay the premium for the larger expansion space, it's unfortunate. I keep all my important files in Dropbox online so I can access them from all my devices partly for that reason.

Wait a second, if you have an iPad with 3G, can't you use that to connect your real computer to the web via tethering? Either via Wifi or the USB charging cable.

Your missing the point I have mobile wireless on my I-Pad Air2 for when I am not at home it is my ADSL2 connection which runs the wireless in my home that is down, the iPad has only 4 gig of monthly data for when I am away but I have to rely on that now to keep me connected

At a pinch I can use my I-pad to create an hotspot in the house but I will still be limited by my 4 gig
