Well, the Roadster is almost a month old. Time to drop her, I guess. But the road bars and footpegs protected her.

I was about 200 yards from our property, coming up on a stop sign on a downhill grade which turns sharply downhill. The fellow in a well laden log truck decided to cut the corner sharply, on this blind corner, rather than swing wide, just as I rolled to a stop. The combination of road angle and veering to the verge, with a steep dropoff. Could not stop her from tipping.

I am pretty certain the driver saw me go down, but did not want to face the music and kept on his merry way. The road angles are steep, so I stay in the middle of the road to make a turn there. But, joining Maggie under the double rear axles of a log trailer in the middle of the road was less than appealing.

A fellow on a sportbike following the guy saw me go down and helped right her. I took a wrench to the road peg, rotated it slightly and she is fine, except for a scratch on the end. The driver, I should have chased down. Preferably, with a large bore handgun.

We are at the.bottom of about a sixteen percent grade going both directions. I keep our gravel road graded and packed so I have a firm footing entering the road. The Postal lady won't deliver parcels to the house due to the blind corners and in particular, log trucks.

Ride safe folks. Because there are people out there who haven't a clue.

Sorry to hear that mate , don't feel bad certain members around here have had their bikes throw themselves to the ground when just parked on the side stand , happened to me once.

No bullet, and I cannot imagine I would do such. But, it irritates me that he could not be troubled to stop. But, the other biker was timely and helpful.

Only Mad Max might shoot him.

But, I might have escorted him to the Ram (sheep) pens. Let that trio have their way...

We have a serious shortage of blue-ring octopus here.

However, if Maggie had endured more than the slightest scratch. I expect I am getting a bit too wrapped up with her.

I have had some nice bikes, I think. But I would prefer triple the scrape and bruise I got, rather than suffer her injury.

Bikes are just money mate. Skin bones and spines can't be bought, better to walk away intact and ride another day. Good to hear your OK.

Glad you okay mate. Bugger about the bike having to be put on its side. Good on the bloke with the sports bike for helping out.

Tough day brother and understandably frustrating. When I hit the fawn a few years ago and went down, the two cars behind me just kept going and didn't stop to check me for lose change. The trucker may not have even seen you since you say it was his blind side. The cars behind me saw me as they both had to slow down before driving on.
