I remember reading somewhere here that by letting the bike idle it will perform a "self-tune". I have searched and searched and am missing it somewhere. What are the details of this and procedure? Thanks a million in advance.

start bike up cold without touching the throttle. let idle until the fan kicks on then 12 minutes after the first fan cycle you can shut her down this usually takes about 25 minutes total on a cold bike. So if you want start her up and let her run 25 minutes from cold and the 12 minute tune will be complete.

so when you say "cold", it's 90deg here and she's sitting in the sun, last run a couple hours ago. Do I need to wait til am or did you mean cold as in "off". Maybe a stupid question, but ??

word on the street is, its a narrow band lambda sensor so the 12 min tune only covers about 40% throttle or about 3500rpm. or something.
would explain why mine is a bit meh above 3.5/4k, i just did the undertank K&N and my tune is home made as the dyno guy hasnt got a scooby doo about tuneboy. so i did a 12 min tune to be safer
