Seat latch issue

.... Decosse .... if I remember correctly has a key fob that unlocks his electric seat latch.

It is electric - not off key-fob though - have a button switch that is enabled only when my keyless system is disarmed
Ignition does not need to be on, but the remote fob does have to be in range
i.e. anyone else pressing the button will do nothing;
but if you have the remote in your pocket it will enable the button and it will operate
(those with my keyless will understand)

instead of installing a trim piece over the key hole you could put the moment switch (weather proof) in the same hole.

That was my original thinking ...........
However the hole for the key lock was much bigger than the switch Tony, so it would have needed a filler piece regardless
And the solenoid is actually screwed to the battery box ... And additionally the solenoid actually fits flush against the inside face of the box so could not have the switch protrude into that space anyway - it has to be in the lower part where it ended up; there was just enough space for the solenoid between the side of the box and the battery.
The trim piece is actually a nicer finish than the exposed battery box did anyway :D
I did think about trying to mount the solenoid directly up by the latch itself incidentally - but in the end it just was easier to use the cable.
Another part I'm not thrilled with is how the cable nipple is retained in the solenoid arm - but it works.
