Well just finished installing the lower air deflectors (what a PITA) found some minor scratches on the burnished part of the fork legs, any ideas on removal to bring my rocket back to pristine again?

Thanks

Peter

yep i removed a full screen setup from mine too, left kinda black scatcges on the forks - i have tried various forms of metal polish, mothers, meguairas etc - but i think the scratches are deepish, so i am guessing some wire wool is needed, a few diff grades, then maybe finish with the abrasive polishes, then some fines stuff,,,

is a pita

maybe a dremel???

I can testify that the fixit stuff works great as long as the scratch is no deeper than the clear coat. Heck, even if it's as deep as the metal it will at least seal it up (it's UV activated so park it in the direct sun before you wash it off). I think the brushed aluminum even has clear coat sprayed on some of the parts so watch out and check it before taking the wire brush to it. I have an '08 and the clear coat used for the wheels is junk, my next mod will be to have the wheels blasted and powder coated.
