This is very sad for his family, who are in my thoughts. Tragic. I hope his wife has a speedy recovery.
I have to agree with the remarks about the helmet. My Amanda hit the ground with her chin at only about 70 km/h and the fact she was wearing a good quality helmet (shoei) saved from serious head injury and possibly leaving her jaw on the road. Bad enough to have a broken bone or 2, but at least I have 'her'. No one plans an accident.

Really sad. I just read about it on FB. Bill was a really great guy, I met him in Arkansas over a few beers and continued the friendship in Maggie Valley. The older I get the more it happens, friends leaving us. Blessings on your next journey Bill, I for one, will miss ya.
