This is not the dealer it's a guy that works on bikes close bye.
He just phone me up saying that he needs to order me a new egnition, so I went down he explained when he went to lift the gas tank the running lights and the licence plate light came on, and traced it to the egnition saying there's a loose connection and that wire also is for the running light as well as the licence plate light?
So I said well if the running lights and the licence plate lights did not work , then why could I start it and never had a problem starting it?
He said sooner or later I would have?
So he said when he orders me a new egnition swictch that it comes with new keys?
I asked why couldn't you give the vin # so they could give me the same egnition so I could use the same key?
He said Triumph doesn't do that so I would need to use my old key to open my seat unless I change that as well?
Does this make sence?
If the egnition as a loose connection why can't he fix it? Does it not come apart? It was made in factory can't see why it can't be taken apart to fix?
He said the yellow and red wire, I asked then fix it he said it he problem in side of the ignition ?
I wish I had some of my talent for wiring and bikes but I don't
Does this make sence ? My gut says no.

It's not impossible but would be VERY unusual to have a failure on the running light ciruit on the key-switch, especially if the headlights are working normally.
The Red wire would indeed be part of the running light circuit, however the Yellow Wire is actually the Ignition circuit (these are are on completely separate poles of the switch)
TBH, I think your man is clueless
Here's something you can check to see if it is the whole running light circuit (front and rear) or just the rear one (where you clearly already had problems):
Pull Fuse #9 (will turn off the main headlights) and see if the small running light bulbs are on; if they are then it is just a rear light wiring issue
You should also check Fuses #'s 8 & 10
And finally turn key all the way to the 'park' position (fully anti-clockwise past the lock position) - does either front or rear come on?
Thanks I will ask.
But is it possible the the connection in side the egnition switch is bad and can't be fixed that could cause just my licence plate light and my running lights not to work? And the need of a new egnition switch?
If so then I'll look into in just getting a keyless egnition.
I believe it would cost you less $$$$ in the long run to pay him for looking at the bike & have him re-assemble anything he has disassembled & get it out of his shop, or it could turn into one of those horror stories where he replaces the ignition switch & then tells you that didn't fix "all of it" so now you need a ECU, ect, ect.............. just one of those guys that replaces sh!t til he gets lucky & finally gets to the problem
Thanks guys I went to go pick it up and drive it home , my dealer can't see it until September 4th so at least I can still ride it but not in the dark.
He took a video of him moving the egnition switch and he says the licence plate light came on as well as the running lights that's why he says I need a new egnition switch, says he can't fix it with a guarantee with out changing the egnition switch.
Cost me two hours $169.98 plus tax $192.08
I said I don't want to pay for unesersay work because they really don't know the bike, they said they worked on it for 7 1\2 hours and only charging me two hours. I said that's crazy, I won't tell any one
Oh sorry can't put a video up some reason will not allow me.
