Hey,

So is anyone here using Royal Purple? I've been using Amsoil but I've read up on Royal Purple and I'm thinking of giving it a go. Shifting feels a little clunky about 4000k from my last oil change and people seem to say it butters it up.

What do you guys think?

I've heard a few horror stories about Royal Purple as well.

I used to be an Amsoil distributor. From everything I learned, its good stuff. I'd stick with it.

Oh the gossip lol.

If you have questions about a certain oil type or mixture, there are actual facts you can find. At the end of the day though, the service manual says "Mobile One 4T", despite many dealers attempts to push Castrol. It really pays to read about oils a bit and understand why one brands synthetic is $10.00/quart and another charges $18.00/quart, and why the 10/quart may or may not actually be right for you despite its "inferior" characteristics.

Unfortunately, I can't get Mobil here. Nobody sells it. I can get Amsoil and it has worked well. I guess I was looking for practical feedback from other owners on Royal Purple to see what all the fuss is about. Pricing is in line with Amsoil where I live and I have no issue paying for a premium product. Thanks for the links, I'll do some reading when I'm off my mobile.

Triumph switched to Castrol a few years back, which would be why dealers are recommending it. I have used Mobil and Castrol without problems.
