Rockets Across America V – Fall Launch

FUNIEST MOMEMT????
my vote goes to the short harley guy with enough balls to tell 25 triumph riders "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Monday Willie, Sue, Doug, Amanda and I left the Hub and headed to Eureka Springs for one last little ride. Everything went great, had a nice little ride, stopped at a couple of places, then we ate lunch and walked around town before splitting ways.

Amanda and I headed back towards home and the GPS went on the fritz. I pulled over to check it out, got everything adjusted and back on course and went to start the bike back up and nada... Aparently the ignition switch went out again.

I checked the basics; battery, fuses, etc... just to be sure, then I called roadside assistance and had them send me a tow truck. The tow truck took us to Branson, MO, so we could get a U-Haul. We ended up staying the night in Branson and not being able to get a U-Haul until around noon on Tuesday.

The 70+ year old man that owned the U-haul company out there actually came and picked us up at the hotel. I wish we had a video of Amanda and me pushing the Rocket up the U-Haul ramp... We almost lost it.

By the time we had the paperwork done, we were leaving Branson around 2PM. We left on Hwy 160... It'd have been great on the motorcycle, very twisty and hilly. It absolutely sucked in a U-Haul.

We drove all night and got home about 4AM this morning.

When we got up, we unloaded everything, returned the U-Haul and loaded the Rocket up in the truck and took it up to the dealership.

Amanda and I had a great time in Arkansas at the HUB with everyone, we can't wait till the next ride.

home safe

Got in lto DFW last night. Great trip all the way around. I can't emphasize just how impressed I was with meeting and getting to know Wayne Tripp. OMG! After asking any question I could barely stay with him with his in-depth answer(s)...and I and I'm not stupid when it comes to mechanics. I know just enough to understand how far ahead of the curve he is.... If you want to bleed every drop of HP from your internal combustion engine ...take it to Power-Tripp.

It sure was fun. I agree about "The Hub". I will definitely be going back.

Home Safe

Many thanks to Steve & Katie for coordinating this RAA event. As always, we enjoyed getting together with everyone, making new friends and having a great time.

Randall & Deb with the Hub were great hosts and don't refer to their visitors as customers, they're "friends" and their entire staff follows through to make sure everyone's stay is more enjoyable.

The Ozark roads provided some great riding challenges and we look forward to returning in the future.

We arrived home a little after midnight last night and went back to work today. Take care all and we look forward to our next get together!

Made it to Bentonville today after riding the last couple of days in the area...
Many thanks to the group for making me feel at home on my virgin voyage!
Steve, I have been riding every day since you guys left and plan on riding for several more days down here, the twisties are calling me! "I just wanna ride!"
The bikes are showing up now, BBB is starting and will be big!

Man JDuke,,, sounds like your luck was worse than mine, glad you made it home safe!!!:):)

Wow, I feel lucky. No tickets as there was lots of speeding going on, no break downs and no running over deer. We got caught riding in the dark again and came up on a truck that just nailed one. I was running over all sorts of plastic parts. The driver was loading up his road kill as we passed by.
