Bear Claw?

Doesn't look like any of the pictures show the bearclaw. Wonder if there is a design change in the look of it? Would be cool if they took some cues from some of the ways in which some folks on this site have customized their bikes.

Think it would really make bike stand out if the triple filters could be seen, or even if the bear claw was redesigned to be a functional air scoop/intake design.

Also, wondering why no one has been able to design a quick release windshield that would fit behind the flyscreen? Maybe there is such a thing...and if so does anyone know of it?

Just for curiousity, would any of you computer savy guys be able to photoshop some corbin beetle bags on roadster? Would give an idea of how a full dressed roadster would look.
:D

Gee more torque, dual exhaust, no horsepower numbers sounds like a tourer motor in a standard to me, and 17 grand thats 4 grand more than either of my standards a fly screen tuneboy and mirrors and a set of preds is still cheaper and who really needs abs.

Have to wait till spring and take on for a beat but it will have to be something special to take the place of the one I got now I already have the phantom black with the same mirrors and the mirrors are sexy I like them, but no need for abs .

Personally, I like a quiet bike you can get away with a whole lot more if no one hears you .

But that is just my opinion.

Make over

Can't help but think this could be a stop gap model, you know car manufacturers give a model a facelift new lights and bumpers. Lets keep up intrest in the rocket until were ready to push the new one out. I think it's to close to the standard to make people want to change, perhaps it will attract riders away from other bikes which can only be a good thing. Somebody said that there's about 100bhp still in the engine, so it doesn't look like triumph are trying to hard. But hey guy's what do i know

Triumph has answered the question of which is faster...red or black:

"The Rocket III Roadster will be replacing the existing Rocket III and Rocket III Classic in Triumph's 2010 model line up, while the long-haul Rocket III Touring cruiser will continue.
The Roadster will be available in two black colour options, Metallic Phantom Black and Matt Black, and while the price is yet to be confirmed, the Roadster is expected to be available in dealerships from February 2010."

I wouldn't be dissing a bike that has ABS, it has saved more bacon than a lot of people realize. Generally you are going to see the difference riding in the rain and\or when using your brakes to come to a panic stop. It will pump the brakes a lot faster than you can and the benefit is not locking up your rearend which is the usual result of real hard "panic" braking.

Just saying....

I haven't "owned" a bike with ABS but I have ridden several and they made enough of an impression on me that if I get the Gold Wing it definitely will have it and if the Rocket Classic or R3T has it then they are really going to make it hard to choose (unless the "new" Gold Wing" is a big disappointment).

The brakes are the same as the earlier versions with the addition of a Hall effect sensor (tone ring) to actuate the (I believe Wabco derivitave) ABS module. It's very similar to the BMW setup from what I can see in the pictures.

The ad says Brembo designed rear brake. It could be a Brembo design executed by Nissin, who does the front binders but I'd have to look close up.

I'm not sure about the mufflers. I still like the narrow ones. They look, should I say, rather large.....:D

Black motor, I like that. Seat looks to be a hemmoroid enticer......

Ay, ay ay! Chingame. Three cheers for this brutal newcomer. bonus cheers for a more normal looking fuel tank and NO fugly tank seam.

The specs show the HP still at 147, the torque's just been increased to 163. (we all know that's at the flywheel and not the rear wheel). Triumph probably just started reading our little chats here at R30wners and figgured since we were doing it ourselves anyway, they could update the look and make an extra buck by fixin' her up with a few of the goodies talked about on the site. Makes perfect sense to me, I like the look ... lots of us have the same bike!
I wonder if they kept the lower gears castrated, probably. That's been shown to be an easy fix though.
Too bad they didn't really listen ... where is 6th gear? If there was a new transmission with "overdrive" I'd be thinking hard about a trade. (probably better it stayed the same, LOL)
Again, I like the new look ... my '08 looked a bit too much like a classic without floor boards and bags when she popped out of the box ('course it don't look like that no more ;)).
I wonder what kind of interesting new accessories will be coming, maybe some better looking, sportier bearclaws?
XHombre, I don't see where they changed anything about the tank ... looks the same to me.
