Rocket Observations

I have over 46K on Rocky - almost all on the darkside. While on the road, I will drop to 4th, even 3rd if I have to, keep the rpm above 3000 . Never had a problem. Changed the tires, brake pads, oil [Amsoil]/filter, and one fog-lamp bulb. A sparkplug wire gave me the fits for about 30 days, but that's the worst; just clipped about 3/8 of an inch off and stuck it back in the coil. Never busted a seal, and sure as hell haven't touched the valves. Commute everyday to the office. 10 BLOCKS! Rocky hates it. Two weeks of that karapp takes 200 miles at 3500+ to clean out. ROCKETDARYL - your "sweet spot" may be 73-75 but it's not that badboy's between your legs. Your just used to it. Rocky sounds like he's rappin' at 2800, but he's not. 90 is 3500. 100 is dead-on 4000. And, believe it or not, on a Rocket III you can get used to that, too. How long you can stand it is up to you, because everytime you shift into 5th, Rocky prays to Jesus that you're headed to 4. I don't know where Rocky's "sweet spot" is, but mine is somewhere between the back of the gas tank and the front of the passenger pad.

They Are Heavy

Observation number two. Rockets are heavy mothers. In a hurry for work a couple of mornings ago I tried to get my FBG around my wife's Nissan which was parked to close to the garage and edge of the driveway. I dropped the front wheel of the bike off of the wooden timber on the driveway border. The front of the bike was too far down to engage the kickstand, there was no help around at that hour of the morning, so it was give all you got and hope for the best. I pushed her back up on the pavement but walked like Hunchback of Notre Dame for the rest of day.

Pegasus likes to do 85. Hates anything less than 75, purrs like a kitten at 110-120. My lunch at work is usually O2 @120. It does us both good to get out and breath...xhdskip
