Get to the track and practice line starts ... if you get those down pat there aren't many out there that stand a chance from stop light to stop light. Most want to lure you into a rolling start because launches are scary and embarassing when you screw one up.
When I race a big Yamaha or Busa, I make certain it's from a stop and only lasts through second gear. By then I typically have a few car lengths on them and I end the race on MY terms since "I WON". I NEVER give them a second chance and most of the time they just accept the loss and move on, some however get really angry ... those are the ones I enjoy the most. :p

Tip: When you end the race early and the other guy doesn't take the hint that it's over and he lost, he is almost always the one who gets pulled over by the cops rather than you.

HEY I LIKE THAT especially when there all dressed up in the race out fit :D we met a group of sportbikers at HOOTERS bike night and they told us they were professionel drag racers and they would show us how to ride Boy they were shocked and embarassed when the BIG ROCKET SMOKED THEM it was great fun:eek:

Nice try TX..haven't ridden the ZX14..often get the chance to ride an ZX1200R and it
always makes me behave badly :D i guess i should know better at my age

Best of both hi end and low end.

Getting the 14 off the line is like trying to get a pick up truck with an empty bed of the line. Never had any ****** rocket beat spike from 0 -60 but after that look out. Aeros and weight transfer.
Fun just hearing about these street races. Way to go TX.

The rocket is very easy to launch compared to the ZX14. (of which I've ridden both a fair amount)

Average rider vs. average rider between the two and the Rocket will probably leave the ZX14 til about 80 or so. I don't remember how many shifts it takes for the Rocket to hit 80, but the ZX14 does it easily in 1st gear.

Once moving, the 14 will eat the Rocket's lunch.

A MODDED ROCKET done correctly will beat the ZX14 everywhere ;)
