Rivco Center Stand

So I ponied up $300+ for a Rivco center stand(!) and aside from having to grind, file, and otherwise elimnate material from the bike frame and the stand itself to install the **** thing, have found that the knurled extension one stands on to lift the bike leaves me about 10 inches of space between it and the back of the floorboard for my leg. With foot pegs there would be more room. Be for warned: it's a great idea, but needs more engineering; I'm taking it off!

Thanks for the info; I was pondering that. There is another post in here about the center stand but they had no problems installing. They did not mention any clearence issues though. :?

Im not clear on your descripton. When you say it leaves you about 10" between the back of the floorboard andyour leg, do you mean if you were to put your leg down directly behind the foorboard right up next to the bike? Or that it sticks out so far out from the side of the bike it hits your leg? Could you clearify for me, cause im really having a slow day

thanks for the posting I was thinking of puting on a centre stand to enable me to remove the back wheel to replace tyre while keeping the bike balanced. our closest dealer is 900km away and I intend sending the wheel on transport rather than risk damage. The rivco centre stand costs about $700 aussie which is a considerable sum of money. needs to be a good product for that money.

Thinking now that a bike lifter would be better :? . :?: Who has used a lifter that they would recommend

The knurled extension that one stands on to lift the bike, protruds from the side @ 6" from the frame, and is @ 10" from the back of the rear of the floor board. So, if I were to put my leg down on the ground centered between the floor board and the center stand extention, I have @ 3-4" in front and behind my leg. As a result, there is not much wiggle room in which to walk your bike while in the saddle, say while backing out of a parking spot. It's already nipped the back of my leg once, but never again; I took it off this weekend!

Silly question but why not use the triumph one.I think i paid about£100 from windy corner and it works perfectly.

Where is the Triumph center stand offered? I looked on the "official" website and couldn't find it.

Got this from triumph dealers windy corner Barwell Leicestershire, uk.Fits easy.Can and have removed front and back wheel.You have to support the engine at the front when you remove front.Id send you a link but i dont know how to do it.Good bit of kit and requires no modifications.

Come on lads give us a bit of support .I cant be the only one in the uk to have a stand.Who else has got one of these.You cant do much work on the bike without one.classy rocket needs you.
