Wrecka you can't really blame Triumph for dirt and crap on Aussie roads , can you ? .. Goldwash sprayed on with one of those pump spray thingos works a treat.. spray it on , have a smoke or whatever and hose it off.

Powder coat them mate .. there's a silver that looks better than chrome and half a dozen blacks to choose from ;)
Mate truth be known im not even worried about them , i like my vehicles to carry a bit of wear and tear gives them character , im no Ted haha

 
It's not really Australian roads that's the issue, it's that the wheel coating is crap. I seem to recall someone even had his rear wheel replaced under warranty over this (though that just pushed the problem a year forwards).

Just like the animal print 100mph tape ... it's a Melbourne thing (for our International viewers)it is almost unheard of in most parts of this blokesy wide sunburnt land :ninja: maate.
 
I reckon salt air must get to them. I hardly ever clean mine and they look like new 4 1/2 years on. I have used Purple Polish a couple of times and they really shine for the next year or so.
 
Just home from a 1500km ride, when washing the bike i noticed a large piece of chrome peeling off the chrome rear master cylinder cover. The bikes 42 months old.
