Those that have read my stories are familiar with the stuff that happens to me. Here is a situation that happened to me while serving at Miesau Army Depot, Meisau, Germany circa 1973.
A flag football game on base is in progress when I injured my pinkie chasing a quarterback. I think the little finger on my left hand is broken because it's lying across the back of my other fingers but the finger's middle knuckle is tucked against my palm. The infirmary is right behind the football field so I meandered over there for treatment. When I go in the back door no one is on duty at the desk so I wandered the halls looking for a doctor. I found a doctor treating a non-emergency patient. I interrputed him and asked if he could look at my hand. He states flatly he cannot help me and that I should go to Landstuhl (30km drive) to the Emergency Room. The doctor then dons fresh surgical gloves and mask to continue with his non-emergency patient. Why did the doctor refuse my treatment?
