Just got back from an epic, EPIC road trip with the misses while we were in Arizona and Utah last week for a vacation. We went to go visit Sedona, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, Horse Shoe Bend, Lake Powell, Zion National Park... Such beautiful, amazing places to see in person.

While we were in Sedona, we rented a Harley Davidson (The only rental place in the area) Electra Glide. I wanted it because it had a big seat for the wife on the back with a back rest and plenty of storage. Man it was such a laugh.. 1600ccs, 6 speed tranny...

we did the most american thing I have ever done before... riding in the Arizona desert, on a Harley Davidson, with the American Anthem playing between every 2-3 songs on the radio (LOL!!) while we were doing 65mph I told my wife over our Sena headsets that she better hang on because Im going full throttle to 100mph... I crank the throttle to 100% and all it did was get LOUDER and absolutely no forward thrust at all... my wife goes "Should I get off and push?" God I love her so much. But seriously it made me miss my Rocket so much more. It shaked, it rattled, it squeaked, the back brake was non existant and my god it got hot at the stop lights... almost baked my nuts a few times between lights.

Then I got home this weekend and took the Triumph for a ride... wow... what a huge difference.. the suspension.. the brakes.. the torque... You can't even compare it. I love my rocket even more now!

For anyone interested I rode the bike from Sedona to Jerome to Prescott, then back again through those mountain passes, and I also rode from Sedona to Meteor Crater

Nice pics. I rented the same bike in Vegas earlier this year and, while I refuse to jump on the HD bashing band wagon, I have to say I was not impressed. Very comfortable, I'll give it that, but that's about it.

I love all bikes, but it was brutal. Funny thing is too that when I got on it, it felt like a toy compared to the rocket.. its weird when a 700lb bike feels like a toy in comparison, but yeah the rocket is super heavy.

Surprisingly the wife said she didn't like the floor boards. I was sure she would. Looks like I wont need to get them on the rocket now which saves me a few bucks.

It was fairly comfortable, I noticed the handlebars were much lower then on the rocket, it was better for my arms on the long run.

Hope you wore a little more than shorts, especially on a Harley, never know when that might dump you on your ass.

That was just for a picture, and on the way to drop the bike off just down the street. It was way to hot to get dressed up for a 3 minute ride

for sure there is some beautiful riding in this area grand canyon/monument valley/Utah canyons/Colorado mountains or anything in between or combined all within reach from montrose
