Ride
2005 Rocket 3 Classic
Good evening. I'm wondering if anybody could give me some advice on a strange issue that I've had with my 2005. I recently installed the RamAir intake and removed the second throttle body as ive seen described on this forum. After this I let it idle for approx 20 mins twice over. I checked throttle response and all seemed normal. Once I got on to ride and shifted into second, the bike immediately red-lined. Now it immediately red-lines on startup. I've inspected the throttle plates on startup and they seem to be fully closed, so I don't believe that it is a cable or throttle body position issue. Additionally, the bike won't start if the throttle bodies are closed off with a board, so I don't believe that it is a vacuum issue. I even re-installed the secondary throttle plates. They go fully closed at power on but open to full after cranking. Bike is still red lining with primary throttle plates fully closed.

Definitely tps since he removed and reinstalled blindy.
You're probably right, just want to clarify just in case. I didn't remove the actual sensor, I just had it unplugged from the harness, and the initial issue happened long before i tried that as a troublehooting method. Are they that sensitive on these? The fact that it can go out mid ride with pretty intense results seems dangerous to me.

Tps do fail, with limited info, trying to jump in can be a roulette game. You will have to hook up tune ecu to see voltage on tps, it has to be in .64 range at idle, if key was on when you unplugged it would throw a code.

Pictures help. Show what you unplugged.
