With the Hagons and every other brand you buy tell them your weight and usual riding style and load i.e. with or without pillion and how much of each 50/50 etc. With your weight you would not usually need a HD springs unless you carry a load or pillion regularly as spring preload should cover your needs well.
If you want increased cornering clearance and sharper steering response get an extra 0.5-1.0" of shock height from 12.5" stock.
Definitely get a fork spring upgrade and oil change as well to get vastly improved handling and fit a 140 width Michelin Commander or Avon Cobra front tyre next time with stock rear size or an Exedra 240/55 radial rear.
Hello-looking for some opinions. Wife had spinal surgery 6 or so months ago. We ride extended runs as we are both patched BACA members but the stock shocks in the back which were always a touch of a nut buster are now past the ole ladies ability to handle....looking at hagon nitros or progressives but the cost is a bit over the top IMO.....if money was no option I would run Hagon's but 600 plus USD seems stiff. Suggestions? Trying to balance a budget vs. the wife's pain threshold.
Gosh.... I don't believe their is a shock on this planet that will be comfy for someone that has had spinal surgery. Not on a Rocket anyways... maybe a goldwing or bike like that. The rear pillon on these bikes is like riding a log down a river.
When I bought my 07 it cam with Hagons I took them off because, well im scrawny 155 lbs and the guy I got the bike on looked about 210 or so. Ran a different set for my weight on my other bike but the were 350mm good shocks. Of course I have not seen good shocks go cheap until I looked at the Wilbers price. Didn't realize they were still in my trailer and followed me to virginia

I ordered a pair of Hagon Nitros today directly from the manufacturer in the UK. I paid slightly more for black springs and they were $434 USD plus shipping. They promise to ship 4 -5 days after order as they apparently assemble them to order. I opted for 340mm length which is 20mm (3/4 inch) longer than stock to get a little quicker steering and they told me that most rocket owners get that length.. I'll post again when they come with a review.
