Rear light doesn't work Rocket III 2004

Just noticed my rear light doesn't work for how long i dont know, all the indicators and brake light work bulb not blown, i've checked the wiring back to the right hand side panel connector(red wire connects to yellow wire at block) but where does it all go after that .
I've had the tank up to fit a Ramair filter and remove the stock air intake could that have disturbed something also the left hand headlight has been opened,anyone got any ideas.Cheers

bulb been replaced all the wiring seems good up to connection under side panel(checked with multi tester set to ohms) i know the rear brake light works so the earth must be good as it must feed the rear light filiment ?if i put my multi tester on the connector block loom side at the side panel and set it to 20 dcv what reading should i get from the yellow wire (rearlight ) with the ignition on as i dont seem to be getting anything?

Yes I too have had rear bulbs look just fine but replaced them anyway and all is well.

if you do replace the bulb and it's the 1157 I think it is, try a 2357 in its place. Noticeably brighter.

Thanks for all the replies ,all bulbs and fuses are good side lights work but there is now power getting to the yellow wire at the connector under the right side panel? im stumped.

Today I'm sitting with the exact same problem... a bit stressed, less than 24 hour until my planned biketrip starts.... Looks not likely to happen... Any answers to this really old thread...

That SUCKS! Assuming you've tried replacing bulb and fuse, do you have power to the socket? What is the condition of the socket? I've had issues on other vehicles with socket/spring being too worn to make adequate contact.
Do you have continuity between the socket and the closest connector?

Now I have located the connection under the tank, the first one after the switch. Cleaned it and "worked" it with some mild aggression... Plus a good splash of WD-40. Replased the fuse, I guess for the third time today and now I have light all over again! Let's keep finger crossed, will go out in the garage to see if it still works tomorrow morning.
