I installed the rear dresser bars on my 06 Rocket (NOT classic) and I can tell you that the TRiumph instructions are either messed up or I got the wrong part.
1st Supposed to use the top suspension bolt and put the original washer on top. This doesn't work; the washer is too big and would bend when tightening the bolt; the dresser bar would do a ****ty "uneven" job at retaining the shock rubber gommet.
--Washer goes first, dresser bar then bolt.
2nd At the bottom they say to sandwich the dresser bar between the passenger peg and frame/ frame cover. This doesn't work either since the dresser bar doesn't have the 2 extra holes to accommodate the pins on the peg, the dresser bar bottom bracket is also bent and would damage the frame cover.
--Dresser bar goes BEHIND the peg and frame.
I have noticed on both the RIII and SP3 the instructions with these parts are about as useful as the help my kids give me with a computer! (It's right there, just do it, there, here let me do it..) Ah well, at least they give you clues like when the installation calls for a different bolt.
