rear brake light switch

good evening all,

still in LOVE with my 07 but I noticed I have no light activation with I apply my rear brake. pretty sure it's the pressure switch, and I"m wondering if there is an 'aftermarket' part that people are using, or is this pretty much a dealer only expensive part?? for right now it's not a big issue, as I use both brakes, and the front brake light switch works. I"ll have to have it fixed for safety inspection in July of next year.

I had to replace mine on my 2005std many years ago , easy enough job and the part only cost about $30.00

Before you run out spending money, check the spring tension and spray some WD on it. Activate it by hand a couple of times.

It's a pressure switch that goes in the brake line... No adjustment

I can't forget doing mine what a bloody nightmare getting it out from behind the engine? Need to be quadruple jointed.

I had to tap a brake wire for something and thinking i hope that switch never goes bad

have u even check the bulb or checked for power in the socket?

just took a look at mine and i think i would unplug the switch and try to check power coming in and if i had power then i would short across it. with a fused wire.
