Went for a decent ride the other weekend and noticed that my rear ABS on the roadster was clamping. Sadly had 400 klicks to home and im not going to hold on and stay in the remote stuart highway, got back to Darwin and got her looked at. Rear brake pad worn thru to disc brake and stuffed it. Apparently the ABS has fully seized and needs replacing. Now has anyone out there heard/had this happen?

loose cannon,
This is horrible news. How many miles on your 2010 R3R?
What were the symptoms?

I be getting ready for a huge ride and want no problemas like this.
Plus my warranty is over the end of June.
Any more info would be appreciated.

PS: Great handle BTW :D

Hey LC, Mate i have never herd of this before. I your bike still under warranty? If not I would ask that Triumph consider this a warranty claim. If I noticed this 400klms from home I would have drained some of the brake fluid from the rear brakes until the pad is clear. But to late I suppose.

Sorry for late reply lads, work called for a couple of days. Yeah the roadster has done 17740ks or 11000 miles. Sadly it ran outta warranty 5 months ago :-( so its a pay job. Spoke to the helpful guys at NT motorcycles and they said it could be from the heavy rain here but it should still be waterproofed so he scratched his head at that possibility. Ive never heard of it happening before so its safe to agree that its a rare one off....crappy one tho. Peace brothers!
