Ready to turn a wrench

After you've done it you'll be wondering why you were nervous and I don't think your valve clearance will be out at 18k. Good luck.

Changing to Michelin Commanders, what else and mileages have you run/achieved so far? Didn't you just go darkside recently?

Have fun with the wrenching.

The Michelin Commanders are for the Harley. Which has been a slow process getting it up. The bike has been sitting on the front pourch for almost a year and needs a lot of general maintenance. The wheel bearings were frozen in the front wheel. Had to replace the drain line from the oil tank because of a split in the hose. It is amazing what takes place when you let a bike sit. The air filter had a nest of spiders and the rear brake calipers needed to be replaced. Still working on it and might have it up and running tonight. After the Harley is up we will begin the work on the Rocket. I enjoy working on the bikes but I expected to be further along on getting the work done. Cleaning everything as we go along is taking up a lot of time on the Harley. For a bike with 85,000 miles it is in outstanding shape. There are not to many Harleys out there with 85,000 miles and still running good. Says a lot about my mechanical abilities and pocket book. After I am done with both bikes I am going to ride the Harley more often, just to keep it up and running. Riding it just three times this year and letting it just sit the rest of the time has proved to me that just letting a bike sit is worse than riding the hell out of it. :):):):):):):):)

Well post to post but that's ok. Spent eight hours today just cleaning **** up. Well not really forgot about replacing rear wheel bearings and balancing the tire. It amazes to no end on how in the hell the shops around here add so many weights to balance a tire. So far all three wheels ( one Truimph and two harley rims) have taken a lot less weights to get her right. Took the rims into a Honda shop and had the new tires mounted for the Fatboy and during the wait walked over to there show room. Asked about the performance level of the Honda Goldwings and was surprised. So was the salesman when I responded to the fact that for half the price I own a bike that will flat out dust it and provide a descent about of comfort. He laughed at me thinking that I was referring to the fatboy. Funny his whole attitude changed when I said ROCKET THREE.:roll::roll:

Well hell i am drunk so we will go three to three post. Got the Fatboy looking and running like a french whore on a saturday night. Slick mean and no leaks. Maybe one up on a french whore in that department. Every bone in my body hurts. I am just flat out worn out. It took more time and money then planned. Lucky for me parts were not a issue to find. Now it is time to tear into my first love the Rocket. Had to get the Harley up first but original planned a two day job. Six days later and a lot more stuff worked on than planned she looks and runs good. I am going to tear into the Rocket with even more enthusiasm. ;);););););)

So you got drunk with a Saturday night French whore on Sunday night?????? Reminds me of me......... a day late n two hunnard dollors short :banghead:

It ain't so much the time and money spent. This morning I knew it was getting close to wrapping it up and getting her done but **** I could not even walk straight from the pain. I have been turning and burning on the **** thing for four days. My fricking hands have cramps from all the weird positions of holding a wrench and my back is just flat out killing me. Really looking forward to going back to work this week. spoiled tig welder.
