rattle can noise

Hey I was driving in Seattle on a hot day and the bike acted like it was low on gas gave it more gas with the clutch in and bang the engine started making the paint can rattle noise. Do you think this be the tensioner or timing chain? Also, I am an novice mechanic should I take it to the shop for repairs?

i am not the one to help you but you need to give more info, like year,model,how many miles is on her and any other info that might help us help you with your problem.

Not sure about the noise ( no-one will really be without actually hearing it) and yes it's a good idea to let an experienced mechanic have a listen.
