While installing the filter on the bike last weekend, I noticed something that could possibly be a contributing factor to the tearing of the spigots that some have reported where they clamp onto the throttle bodies.
While fitting the filter to the throttle bodies the clamps have a tendency to get pushed up the rubber towards the filter, which leaves them about half on the throat of the throttle body and half above it. This resulted in the filter not feeling like it was seated and wanted to keep popping off of either #1 or #3.
It took a bit of fussing around with a long hook tool to get them pushed back down to the base of the rubber spigot but once I managed it the filter felt good and seated on the throttle bodies. I barely snugged the clamps up and gave it a couple of good pulls on the filter to see if it was secure. It stayed stuck to the throttle bodies like Velcro to a cat.
Oh yeah, I also cleaned the inside on the spigots and the outside of the throttle bodies with alcohol before the install.
Sorry that I don't have any pictures. I had left my camera at work and couldn't manage to get a clear shot with the I-pad I was using.
