This is a new one on me. I didn't realize one used oil on them; I guess since I never installed it.

Clint,
Soap & water does not wear down the foam.
At least it hasn't in all the years I been using it on all my filters.

I would like to report that I had some concerns with my setup (large window cutout of bearclaw)
when riding in heavy rain.
Pleased to report that during the 5 hours of torrential downpour while riding to Talihina, Ok this past weekend - with a fresh cleaning and application of the RamAir recharge oil, I had nary a hiccup!
