The simplest solution, where and when possible is not to ride in the rain.

Otherwise, a hood is generally a useless impediment, IMO.

... What do bears charge?.

Apparently they charge at guys like Jim, i.e., until he offers to hibernate with 'em for the going rate.:p

Well I'm going to another bike rally in 35 mins loaded the rocket last night forecast cloudy but no rain.

Took rocket to work this morning save me 1 1/2 hours travel time. If I were have taken the 4wd.

Well we have had light rain on and off all day.
Have a 200km or 125m ride to get to the site
And what was a fine weekend yesterday is looking a we bit damp now.

Ah but that's why I'm still pretty. :p
tbh a fullface all the time, for me is a bit new. Bloody wonderful in hail though.

The last two times I have been caught out have been on emergency runs with time constraints (ferries do not wait).
The way out I got wet. The way back I had an over jacket. 430 clicks each way. I don't want to do it but sometimes there is no choice. Worst of all is your goretex boots filling up from the water entering the neck, flowing past your nuts, down the legs and into the boots. :banghead:

In torrential rain I run a First Gear 1 piece suit, my full face, and a synthetic neck gator that reaches up into my helmet. Keeps water and wind off the skin and heat in. Totally comfortable in that setup in full on downpour even into the 30s.

Oddly enough, it's easier to see on the freeway in heavy rain on the rocket than in the Mini, sight line in the mini is about 2 feet below the R3, so I can't see ****.

I am in the yes hood category... when I anticipate the rain and actually have my frogg toggs on
Interestingly - FroggToggs is what my mate Jim in Maine uses. He is a bit of a Rain God. He likes riding in rain. And camping in 2 foot of snow.

He says they (Toggs) are very breathable so you don't get the sauna effect. What say you?

Less headlight dazzle too. If you can get the air-stream to hit the visor head on - add a little Rain-X.

It has now been raining non stop since Wednesday. From drizzle (What the Scots refer to as a bit damp) to 30m visibility torrents. Temp never above 5°C. I am remembering what rain is/does/can. I don't like it - turn the taps off please.

I am in agreement for the most part. Someone that hardcore probably has a higher model than mine. But the Road Toad model is very nice and on they Frogg Toggs recommends for motorcycling.

They've since come out with a few new lines, some of them quite pricey.

He obviously eats yellow snow cones for sustenance too;):D.
