I just fitted the Raask slip on muffler and heat shield so I thought I would share my opinion of it.
It was a fairly easy thing to fit, the heat shield supplied with the muffler fits reasonably well but it is not a perfect fit. There were no instructions with the muffler and the bracket that goes between the rear foot peg and the muffler stops the nut from fully doing up on the foot peg:(
The muffler is also going yellow just rear of its join with the engine pipe.
The best thing about this mod is the weight saving. Getting rid of the 3 mufflers and cat/collector + brackets makes a very noticeable difference to the weight of the bike.:)
The sound is good and it makes the bike more fun to ride but I think I will need a tuneboy or PC3 to get rid of a hesitation when rolling on the throttle quickly.
I also spaced the mount bracket about 2cm down to clear the saddlebags because the heat from the end of the pipe was making it very hot.
Overall I am happy with the muffler and would buy another

Sound file?

Cutswell, i appreciated reading your post. i am new here and joined because i am seriously considering purchasing a used riii classic much like yours. i want to add the largest hard saddlebags i can find and raaak pipe appear to hang the lowest. however, sound is impoerant to me, so i am wondering if you could attach a sound file or video? would be much appreciated, especially since none exists on youtube.

Sounds like you are giving a review by answering pre determined questions!!! :D
I like the sound of the raasks. Considered a set for the R3T but havent pulled the trigger. Try to get a sound byte if possible. Dont hold the mic to close. And get tune ECU its free except for the $15 cable. and lots of expertise around here. oh and welcome to the site!!!
