I have used Tune ECU successfully on my 2017 Roadster for quite a while now. I have a valid license with two bikes still available to register. As my R3 GT is now out of warantee, I've serviced it myself, and want to reset the service indicator. Using the same OBD11 cable and the TuneECU app on my android phone, it just will NOT connect to the ECU.

The green USB symbol is lit, but connecting the ECU just results in a flashing red light, eventually telling me that the ECU is not responding. As I can't connect, I can't register the additional bike. It's almost like the ECU is locked ? - has anyone else had this problem and can help ? I have three different leads, and have tried them all ?

For the GT you'll need a bluetooth OBD like OBDLinkLX (or MX) to connect. The cable only works on older bikes like my 2013 Thunderbird or son-in-laws 2010 Speed Triple.

Ahh ! That answers that then, thanks for that - I've already ordered one !
No problem. When you get it make sure to pair it with your android device before you try to connect to your ECU, keeps your frustration meter low.

Thank you for this, all done now. I've registered my GT, reset the service interval, and while I was at it I uploaded Ulf Penner's map.

I always disliked the snatchy nature of sport mode, I guess now that that was as a result of Triumph trying to de-tune things. The Penner map seems to have smoothed all that out, and it's spot-on. What an improvement ! - I can see I'm going to have a lot of fun with this 😎

Glad you have it sorted out. Did you run the cruise control switch check to restore cruise control if you reset adaptations? If adaptations were reset you won't have cruise control until you do.

I checked out the cruise control, and it works fine - I hadn't reset the adaptations, so no problem 👍

Once again, thank you for your help and advice on this one - it proved invaluable 👍😎
