The engine blocks of Chevy vehicles that are made in Mexico are of higher quality steel and tolerances than that same make of block made in USA.

It doesn't bother me but people that tout something that is made in America is the best are full of Sh*t.

Those days are gone. Sad enough !! I support my country when I can but I try to be realistic too.

That's just the centre of gravity I think. And the engines.

Way back in grade school I had a teacher tell everyone that the metric system would fade out and the world would go to American standard measurements. Wonder what her life is like now?

Just to remind a few of you....ALL..Hemi Engines are made in a new state of the art factory in Mexico.

As many times as we here in the USA has bailed out Mopar....They spent nearlt 3/4 billion dollars to put this factory in Mexico

I put the blaim on us here in the USA.....Corp. Greed, cost of medical care and most of all most of the american workers are just looking a pay check with no care of what they do for that pay check

I do not know how many times I have heard ....." you know if I get a raise in pay I will work harder"

Maybe ...Mopar made a wise choice...

I think back to the "apple pie & Chevrolet" ad........very sad when I, as a 37 year veteran of GM service, open a Delco electronics box only to find a bosch, denso, etc has been reboxed. I can recall my Dad referring in the early 60's to "that Jap sh*t". Well look now.....I'm actually glad when I find "Jap sh*t" as opposed to the Chinese sh*t that is overwhelming us now. Back to our Triumphs......I really am GLAD to find so few Lucas components now,,,,,they still suck!!! In the early 70's we used to refer to Lucas as the "prince of Darkness" because inevitably one of us would have to tow the other back home....my bud had a BSA and I had a Triumph. Sadly a few times we both had to hauled home behind a Honda Truthfully,,,from my research I think a larger portion of a new Toyota Camry is made in the US than a new Dodge, Chevy or Ford.

There was a recent report, I don't know where, that was about this very topic. Which vehicles are truly "made in America" from American sourced parts.

#1 was the Ford F-150. Yeah, I can believe that.

#2 was the Kia Sorento. Assembled in Georgia from mostly American sourced parts. We love ours.

Yes it is a good thing that alot of foreign auto companys have plants here in the usa.

As I have traveled around this part of the country...the east coast... that I have seen here

BMW...KIA.... Hyundai... Toyota......and I do not know how many others have plants here.

Just one bad thing.....All the profit goes back to the home country.

The labor and materials to build all the auto come from the USA...and a lot of these material can not be replaced once used up. then we will be importing these materials in a few dozen years.

Nothing that I saw in my recent factory tour.
