The first time I fueled up the fuel gauge worked fine, although a bit sluggish. I replaced the battery this week and now the gauge is going all over the place. The gauge read 1/4 full and the yellow light came on. Stopped for fuel and it only took 2.9 gallons. Took 10 minutes before it went to full then it dropped back to the 3/4 mark. Think this may have something to do with the battery being disconnected for about an hour? Will it reset on its own or do I need to do something to correct it?

Thanks

In my experience when the battery has been disconnected, or the ECM has been "reset;" it takes a bit longer than usual for the fuel gauge to reset itself.

Do you have the Touring or the Roadster?

I found that the gauge on my touring was a bit more non linear than the one on my Roadster

When mine showed 0 miles left today I was able to get 22more miles before the next filling station... Put 5.979 gal in... 5th fill up since new and got 37.8mpg. Light comes on when 50 miles left to empty but drops quick after that , last reading was 17 miles left then it jumped to 0. So I am using 20miles to go on the trip when showing 0 miles left as my limit
