Question: does anyone installed a Rocket 3 Storm GT front screen to the R ?

I imagine the protection to be minimal, but is it better compare to no screen? I imagine that at 160km/h, it will not be efficient, but my issue is mainly on the highway, at 130, it is difficult to maintain thjat 'low' speed for long. So I was curious to know if the Triumph screen was able to deviate most of the wind out of my chest.

My screen takes all the blast off my chest. And is comfortable at 85mph without buffeting around your helmet. I've done 7500 miles with it without a problem !

Finally did it and very happy with the result! Does not change the look as much and offers the protection I was expecting, making the ride on the highway more confortable.

I installed the GT screen on my R and it makes a difference. It’s not too large, so the bike still looks great, but it gives a bit of extra wind protection. I’m really happy with it.

For anyone looking for a mad stad style of windshield, California Scientific makes a windshield that is pretty close in shape and size. I don't think their mounts are adjustable though.

I have a GT and the stock screen looks good but actually does very little. It has to be a lot more upright to be effective, so I made myself a couple of brackets to adjust the angle more along the lines of what they do with the Tiger, so the angle of the screen is in line with the forks. Painted the brackets a matching colour and no-one has ever noticed. It works really well too - up to about 85mph, which is more than enough,....

Hi gents,

The title says it all, I’d like to know if adding the GT front screen to the Storm R is actually useful or if it is mostly cosmetic. Even a small reduction in wind pressure on the chest or helmet could make highway runs more comfortable. Little changes like that can matter more than they look. I notice the same thing on Tropical Casino Tropica casino where a cleaner game layout, quick access to slots and a simple promo section make the whole session easier without changing the core experience. Has anyone tried the GT screen at motorway speeds and noticed a real difference?

I would not expect a huge difference, but I doubt it is completely useless either.


A small screen usually takes some of the pressure off your chest at highway speed, which can make longer rides noticeably less tiring. The downside is that depending on your height it may move the airflow straight onto your helmet and create more noise or buffeting.


If the GT screen fits without much modification and you like the look, I would probably try it. Just think of it as taking the edge off the wind rather than turning the Storm into a touring bike.


For me the biggest question would be where the airflow hits at around 70 mph. That matters more than the actual size of the screen.

They are part of the screen.

When you order the screen for the R, you order A9700999 - and this "Screen Kit" includes that extensions. Got it on my TFC and changed the bike from "stormy" to "what the hell, I already passed 200 km/h???"

Actually I meant the extensions that Ward made to change the angle of the screen. I have the 7jurock but would like to add these extensions.

Sorry for the slow reply to this (been very tied up with other stuff) - I made the brackets using 1.5mm sheet aluminium as it's easy to work with, and more than rigid enough when bolted up. You'll also need to procure some additional nuts & bolts, I used M20x6 TORQ headed. I'll measure/scan the template and post it here (hopefully this afternoon).
