Question: does anyone installed a Rocket 3 Storm GT front screen to the R ?

Hi gents,

the title say it all, I would like to know if adding to the Storm R a front screen from the GT is useless, or does it offer a better protection (even if limited due to its size) on the highway?

I think you might be better off with a larger aftermarket screen for highway wind protection. The GT "screen" is hardly anything. Depending on your height, it might even dump wind into your face, making it worse than clean air. I found with windscreens its pretty much all or nothing.

Agree with you but I don't want to kind of 'ruin' the look of the R, reason why I was checking for the GT's screen. I am short with 1m73. Right now, riding at 130km/h is difficult.

Check into an adjustable screen - both height & deflection angle. I have one from MadStad that improves functionality without ruining the look.

I have the small sport screen on my 3R. Better than nothing and looks good, but I switch to something bigger and uglier for colder weather and long trips, especially involving highway/interstate miles.

I have a GT and the stock screen looks good but actually does very little. It has to be a lot more upright to be effective, so I made myself a couple of brackets to adjust the angle more along the lines of what they do with the Tiger, so the angle of the screen is in line with the forks. Painted the brackets a matching colour and no-one has ever noticed. It works really well too - up to about 85mph, which is more than enough,....

Nicely done! I have the adjustable Madstad (out of business) bracket that I use not only with their shield in winter (ugly), but also with the sport screen to change the angle. Still, doesn't really do all that much for wind protection.

I imagine the protection to be minimal, but is it better compare to no screen? I imagine that at 160km/h, it will not be efficient, but my issue is mainly on the highway, at 130, it is difficult to maintain thjat 'low' speed for long. So I was curious to know if the Triumph screen was able to deviate most of the wind out of my chest.
