If it were my choice to make now - and knowing what I know today - I'd go for the Roadster "makeover, even thought I love my Touring!

And oh by the way . . . Welcome to the Forum from Sunny South Florida!!!!

No it doesn't and the Touring has the "hard" saddlebags, isn't as fast (about 106 HP compared to the Roadster's 147, Touring torque is around 154 ft/lbs versus the Roadster's 14). Roadster has two headlights versus one on the Touring. The dealer there was wrong they did not stop making the Touring a few weeks ago...he made have sold his last Touring in his dealership then but they are still being made.

I just picked up the new Touring and the dyno did not say those numbers when Wayne was done with it infact they where a lot higher than you posted for the roadster

All I'm saying is when they are tuned they are the same on out put numbers stock they are not so if you leave it stock your giving up a lot if not you lose nothing Waynn got 169 ft. lbs and 167 hp out of my 2014 touring with 750 miles on it I did have Jars and K&N pods added

Guys,

It is nice the Tuning and these figurs. I also had the Jardines and had it tuned and it went like the Firebrigade. With the same speed I had to visit the Gasstation: 26 miles on a Gallon at ( in Holland) $ 4.99 a Gallon ( 70% tax in NL) . So I had it tuned again to 140 HP ( Triple Filters and D&D's) . Good and fast enough and I am now at 34 ,Miles a Gallon. That's reasonable for 2300 CC I think.

I'm just about to put in Wayne's map for standard Tourings with no other work done and that will reportedly get me past 110 real-world horses. That's plenty for any conceivable road-riding purpose when combined with the torque of the Touring, so which you get isn't really so much about the power but about the looks and the entire purpose. I don't regret getting the Touring, even untouched it is scary fast 0-60 if you short-shift your way there and use the low-down grunt, and the hard panniers and the 180 rear makes it turn absolutely beautifully even in the twisties for a bike its size. A 240 tractor tire back there comes with some drawbacks, and you don't really need 240 just to get grip to accelerate - though it looks awesome, admittedly.

That said, and for the purposes of the original question, I'd rather buy a Roadster from a local dealer than go through the hassle of shipping a bike halfway around the world from the US. The Touring is nicer (in my opinion) but not that much nicer.
