I'm in process of putting on some 412 rear shocks. The old shocks came off and were tight on the bike. New shocks came with a bunch of metal spacers, no rubber bushings, and seem to fit right over the mount. There's nothing to go between the shock and the mounting peg? Should I grease that area as well or does it not matter?

So this is done. I'm not sure what the deal was with the shocks on there. I had to disconnect both to get one on even though I went with stock length, they bottom just wouldn't drop enough to fit one on. The bike is soooo much better. I've never had the need to replace shocks on any bike I've owned. I've gone mountain biking for hours and not had issues, this bike rode hard and I always assumed based on what i've read that it was the norm. I'm thinking maybe my rear shocks were jacked up, the previous owner had one set to 3 and the other to 2.

Anyway, best purchase I've made.
