Positive or negative Sirus XM

I had installed the Sirus XM on my Rocket and Ford Escape about 5 years ago .All was great in life till My R3's Took a dive. Since I was Beavertising my Lights I figured I would check out the problem .I have narrowed down to the Sirus power cord . It is a cigarette lighter type plug. The question is isn't the center button no cigarette lighter plug the positive .

Typically, the nipple (center/tip) is +12V. Unless the lighter socket was wired backwards.

Is this a trap! Your most likely right. I will tap on it with my trusty testing probe to a negative source and see if the probe lights up. Starting to feel the minister in you.
