I was in San Francisco yesterday and saw several of these:

I had never seen a police dual sport before. If I was an SF cop that would be the one I would want to be riding through the the streets of San Francisco rather than a beamer or harley.

Yes we've seen how the police tackle speed bumps it still hurts thinking about it and it alway helps when you see what your up a against ,in this case I think the r3 will smoke it

I forgot about the speedbump vid...ouch.

Many of the streets of SF are very steep and and narrow, and have street car tracks, and all are crowded. The speed of the R3 is useless in that environment and the weight and lack of agility are a liability, same goes for touring beamers and harleys. It might come in handy to be able to hop a curb too. Then there is Lombard Street:

I see what you mean definatly that street is one to hone your skills on .i think that bike you selected for that area is perfect . The Kerb hopping might be a bit challenging on the r3'nice looking gardens

Lombard? Reminds of a lady I worked with.
She'd call hers self a SINBAD - single income, no bloke, and desperate.
Every time she went on a date all she got was a LOMBARD - loads of money but a real dickhead.
She was a funny one.

That street looks like it would be a hoot on a billy cart.

Frisco

I've only been to Frisco one time in 1974. Not my piece of cake. But the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department where I live uses the same bike for off road enforcement. Their bikes are not white , but have radios and emergency lights and sirens.

I can not even imagine trying to keep a class C uniform with a Sam Brown with equipment clean riding in the dirt!!!!!!!!!! What a pain in the arse!

Plus I have to say something else. I sat on one of those bikes a few months ago when my son was buying his new Polaris Razor. That has to be the hardest, most uncomfortable seat I have EVER sat on. I can not even imagine doing a tour of duty riding that thing! A Crown Vic is bad enough!!!! My Mule saddle is a better ride than that thing!!
