Pc v

From what I can tell by their website, the PCV is going to be made just for the 2009-2010 model years. I originally thought that it was going to be for everything, but if you use their application guide it specifies PCIII for 2008 and older, and PCV for 2009 and newer. I know there were a few guys here that were waiting for the PC5 to come out before ordering one, it may have been in vain unless you have a new bike.

Has anyone heard information to the contrary?

When I contacted them last spring they said they just needed a bike to work a few things out on. They said it would work for all years of Rockets. Someone recently posted that it is in the works but no release date.

Maybe we need to get organized and start sending some emails asking when we can get it.

Here's the contact link:

I asked them the question through their sales and tech contact link, I'll let you know what they say when they get back to me.
I also looked again at the site and specifically at the PC5 page, guess what .... right next to the picture it says "Works with 2009 and newer motorcycles, ATV's and other Quads".
It's looking like the fancy new toy is not for our girls.

They are probably developing it using only 09-10 models, so they won't claim it will work for earlier models. The PCIII for the Rocket works for all model years. Nothing has changed between 04 to 09 on the Rocket that wouldn't allow it to work on all models. So if they develop it using any year model, it should work just fine. And the PCIII plugged in and worked just fine on my bike ('06) pre and post upgrade kit. So that part of the harness wasn't replaced.

With all that being said, if it doesn't work, that maybe just the excuse I need to upgrade.

..Brian, I think you hit the nail right on the head..here's their reply back to me..

We are only officially supporting the install of the PC5 on the 09 and newer models. We have only tested the PC5 on 09 models. We have only tested the PC3 on the 08 models and that is the unit we support to put on your bike. We do not support any install of the PC5 on 08 and older bikes. Some units may retrofit back to older years but we are not doing any testing or supporting the install on 08 and older models. Also, if the unit does retrofit back to an earlier model there may not be any compatible predeveloped maps.

That being said, the PCV and PC3usb for the Rocket III have the exact same connectors. So, I see no reason why it would not retrofit back to your older bikes.

I don't think I'd hesitate to get a PC5 for any bike given that they will connect properly. The pre-laoded map only gets close and a good dynotune is needed. Our dyno guy has to tweak all the supplied maps anyway and he has said it does not matter at all if a map is loaded from Dynotech-he can adjust it anyway. This info. is from a certified dynotech center with the new dyno machine, computer, A/F rod, and all that.

I have the PC3 and don't feel the need to swap but if I getting it all over then why not get the newest one?
