After nearly a week and five knockbacks I got my Rocket through machinery at last. Inspector kept knocking me back for excessive exhaust noise  first I tried jamming chicken wire into the merge collector .. told me "take it back home" .. then i tried these plastic bungs that the HD Dealer uses when getting Harleys through machinery. Stupid f#ckin thing spat out the back of the muffler right in front of the Inspector  molten plastic ball hit his wall... looked at me and said "go .. leave" ..hahahaha. Tried again with washers jammed into the header pipes .. told me to "go away and fix the noise" .. found a combination of washers in the merge collector and chicken wire jammed into the headers did the trick.
Obviously lasted until I got the bike home ..it is rowdy but I quite like it to be honest. Mission accomplished as George Doubleyou said :D

What an PIA ordeal!
I feel fortunate.
We have to have emissions checked every two years with cages - nothing with motors.

It's a silly process. Common sense should come into it, but rarely does. Your bike gets judged by its potential to make noise instead of how much noise it actually makes while you're riding it. A bone stock bike can been offensive and annoying if you sit there revving the crap out of it. When I open my bike up it sure gets loud and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't pass a sound test, but most of the time when I'm riding I doubt it bothers anyone.

Alabama, no emissions laws and clean air. Maybe there are too many people and that causes the pollution. Really feel fortunate not to have to deal with these beuracracies that do little good other than creating another gov. job.

wish I could of seen his face &read both of youre minds when that molten plastic come flying out and stuck to the wall I can picture it in my mind now way too funny

Thing is I chose this particular Inspection Place because I was told he didn't have a decibel meter .. which Is true , he doesn't. Seems his ears can assess 92 decibels , quite a f#ckin talent I thought :sneaky:
The look on his face when the bung slammed into his wall was priceless .. he sneered .. I pissed myself laughing. In hindsight probably didn't help my cause .. but it was hilarious.

Rode past his workshop this arvo at full noise .. fair under it in 3rd gear .. hahahahaha

Also no motorcycle driving test in Alabama:):).
No MOT, smog test or what ever your state calls it here in Florida

Man, I thought we were bad, guy I go to here asks "all the lights work?" and puts on the sticker.
