I just got through with that job. I am afraid that it is a lot more entailed than what you think.
You will have to start removing things sat the rear wheel , and work forward. The swing arm has to come off. Remove the engine mount bolts at the rear of the engine. Loosen the raditor hoses going to the engine. The frame has to be able to swing up , so the front top engine bolt to frame has to come out. Raise the frame enough to get at the cover bolts . Have lots of parts jars to keep the bolts ect together . You will need a press.
I have a chain hoist in my shop so it made it a bit easier. If you have something to hook into your ceiling , like a Eye you screw into a joist , and lift with a pully from Ace Hardware , it will make life a lot easier.

that's what the dealer told me I would have to do, also tols me to be careful with the adjustment on the swingarm and the rear motor mount. My plan is to hook a winch or a hoist into the roof trusses to raise the bike up.

Worked all day yesterday putting metal roofing on, after that I tore the Rocket apart to change the torsional dampner, three hrs into it I'm ready to swing the frame up off of the engine. will try to post pics.

Post screen..Go to manage attachments at the bottom and upload from your PC folders adds a thumbnail to the post otherwise open a photobucket account but this is a little more involved..

New torsional dampner is in the Rocket, 10 hrs to do the job, I still have a fuel line clamp, seat, and fresh oil to put in, then I get to test fire it.
