ok, here I go. tune ecu first time

FWIW, I could not, no way José, get TuneECU to work on my laptop.

Resorted to purchasing the Android version, and am expecting any day the adapter for the Lonetech cable to the phone and then we can both try it for the first time.

Others have had better luck with the free version, and I hope you get to work.

hey Joe, were you at least able to get it to connect to the bike? I got it to connect last night but and bring up data on the diagnostic page but couldn't seem to get it to do much else. Going to ake another look at it this morning with fresh eyes

When you got her to connect and you found that you were good on the diagnostics page did you try any thing on the test page ? If not try a fan test just double click on it. and the fan should cycle if so you are linked up. I suspect the reason your not having much luck on the edit page is because it is your first time and you do not have a map loaded on the screen. I am not sure but at this point it might still read your map? If not then unhook from the bike and pull up a tune for your bike either one that is close or the one you want to install. Then hook back up to the bike and copy your map saving it under a name you will recognize like ride free original. I always use a basic name and a date so I can always go to the most recent or hunt down one of the older ones.

@Ridefree You're at least ahead of where I was. In my case, TuneECU was locked on COM 3 port, which I could not find anywhere on my computer. The FTDI driver mapped the three USB ports to COM 4, 5, 6, and despite going through Windows as Admin to show hidden devices, COM 3 was never revealed, so I gave up.

Warp, Thanks,
I wasn't double clicking. that did it. so I did the reset iscv and got the values set to .60 and .72 and did the reset adaption in the lower left of the test page under reset iscv. All went well except that the green TPS light is off in the lower left of the test page. when I put curser over it it says "closed throttle position reference status not adapted"

Do the ISCV Reset and it will tell you that you simply need to adjust the TPS, I suspect will be a a tad out which will give you a low idle if you are going to adjust the idle in TuneECU first the the above then use the reset the adaptive so and you will not need to do the 12 minute tune, when I tweak tune I always set the idle in the last two sections at 950, this will give you a smoother acceleration of a closed throttle and reduce any decel poping

Is the iscv reset best done at normal running temp or with engine cold? I set it cold and had a tps reading of .58 so i bumped it to .60 and had .72 for my other reading. now that it is warmed up I have .62 and .72. also I changed fan temp to 100 c and idle to 1000 with 1150 to1200 when engine cold. when i started engine after tune ecu connection I was able to verify idle speed at 1000 and fan cut in temp at 100c. so I left it running to see if the fan could hold temp from getting hotter and hotter. At 117c I shut it down before it got any hotter. That temp would be considered danger zone on an auto engine and they are liquid cooled like ours. does that climbing temp sound right to you and would it have leveled out at some point. On a side note, with the new adjustments and higher idle bike jumps of idle so much more crisply.

Appreciate your thoughts, Ridefree.
