Time for a oil change

been checking old posts ..what's the current thinking of best make and grade of oil ?

I was hoping for something that might make the cog swap from first to second a little smother

currently running Castrol power 1 4T 10/40

Sooo many choices and sooo many opinions. I use Motul 300v 15/50 from other recommendations and made a huge difference to my gearbox

Been using this stuff for the last two years, trans shifts great and I just got my oil report back from the lab and I am spot on with all the parameters in the test.

Castrol 4T 20W-50 made my transmission transitions smoother.

Amsoil 10w-40....quietens everything down and makes slick gear changes. I have used it on my last 4 bikes....good stuff.

So long as it is synthetic and motorcycle specific you shouldn't have any issues. Everyone has their favourite brands and swears by them. Some oils are better than others but because most people change the oil way before it is due, you should never have a problem with viscosity breakdown or additive issues. I like Mobil 1 4T, Amzoil and have even used synthetic Shell Rotella T6 diesel oil which meets the Triumph spec requirement by the way.

Change the oil and ride.
