Has anyone installed a oil pressure DIGITAL gauge.
Not the digital dipstick in the oil tank,
A real sending unit that can be hooked up to a real dash?
How about a H2O temp sensor?
I'd like to have both these as part of a dash setup.
Anybody done it, if so, where'd you hook up the sending units,
and what'd you use, links, description, etc.
Thanks for any help or information.

Oil pressure sensor I didn't come across yet.

Temp sender, you can use the one the ECU uses. It's just a matter of getting the reading.

I use SCANGAUGE II for informations. I could post a picture if you don't know what I'm talking about.

I meant to post these a while back (2 years I guess.....) I can't find all the pictures but you get the idea.

I made myself a bracket with a piece of 3/16" x 1" flat aluminum, bent and it slides under the speedo bracket. The stock bolts are long enough for this.

I triple riveted an angle piece of aluminum to it, soften the corners and stuck industrial velcro type stuff.

The Scangauge is only "velcro" to this.

Now you must run the OBDII wire from under the seat to it, it's just long enough to to it cleanly following the main wiring harness.

Keep in mind that the scangauge is not waterproof. I never took it off in rain or even to wash the bike and have not YET have a problem.
I usually set mine to SPEED(corrected), VOLTS, Intake air temp, Water temp.
There are dozens of other data you can display. Including miles to empty, Throttle position, Map sensor etc

Darn, forgot the pictures lmaO!

That's pretty nifty.
It came with a correct plug to hook right up huh?
Sold specifically for the Rocket I guess,
or did you have to specify what bike when ordering?
Or, worse yet, did you have to cut and splice wires?
I'll check that one out it looks good on your setup for sure.
Good job.
I've been lookin at dakota digital gauges.
They're a little pricey, but they look good too.
Thanks for posting pics.
Anybody else done anything different?

skip.

Nothing to splice, just hook it to the OBDII connector under the seat You do habve to find somewhere to put it and route the OBDII wire.
The back light is adjustable to almost match the rocket speedo color
The wire that comes with it is long enough, i did coil the extra under the tank.
Keep in mind that this is meant for cars therefore not waterproof....

I bought another wire so I use it on my car in the winter and also to find trouble codes on my other car.
