Just bought an 06 with 45,000+ miles on her from a dealer who serviced an idle issue prior to taking it. I'm now having the engine light and oil light coming on prior to starting and after moderate distance rides. Oil level and coolant levels good, bordering on high. Is it safe to drive without causing damage? What is the cause/resolve to this problem?

Mate you have a electrical problem associated with the ignition switch. Step one replace the ignition switch. Step two at the same time get a relay kit for you head lights to take the load off you ignition circuit. Do a thread search for EB relay kits.

Chances are dealer would have know about this from the start take it back and get them to fix it under some sort of warantary

Big Marty, Thanks for your input! Turned her on today and the engine light is on, the light with an arrow toward the oil is on and I,ve got the fuel light on. Tank is almost full. I agree it's going back to the dealer, my question is can I drive it the 27 miles to the dealer or should I trailer it?

Tim I wouldn't take the chance trailer her.
But befor you do lift the tank up and unplug the harness coming from the guages, clean and lubricate with dilitium grease. It could just be a corroded connection.

If that don't work on the trailer she goes you wouldn't want the wifey driving your car around with the oil light on. Better safe then sorry.
