That pretty much tells the story of why its not on this site!!:(

I go to Autozone and buy Mobil 1 MX4T 10W40 motorcycle race synthetic for about $8.75/qt. It takes about 5 to 6 qts. I buy a Bosch filter for about $6.00. I change the oil myself and takes about 40 minutes. So you can figure the shop hourly rate is over $100/hr. at your dealer. Last oil change they had the oil on sale for $7.15/qt so bought a couple oil changes.

Thanks atomspliter I also herd its good to get those oil pumps such suck the oil out no need for pans no mess, and that pump is about $50-60 might invest in that.
Nolton, David emailed me the manual that should come in handy maybe one day with all your guys help I'll get doing a lot for stuff on my bike maybe next time I'll do the back brakes since you guys say its so easy.

Thanks Your all invited to come to my house in Toronto for BBQ and beer once I move there and get settled.
Or heck if its closer here in Utah come on over I'll be here only untill 24th then I'm off to see my wife:) and to kick my daughters butt:)

nix the idea of the oil pump. Those are effective for wet sump engines only. The Roc is a dry sump, however, a small amount will remain or leak back into the sump when the engine is off and an oil change pump will not retrieve it.

With your skills in wood working, it is not much of a leap to take on simple chores such as changing your oil.

I use a Mobil1 M8-108 oil filter (available at AutoZone along with the oil) because it will fit under the chrome cap and is a good quality filter. And, yes, it is as simple as spinning the old one off, applying a little used oil to the new filter's gasket, and spinning the new one back on.

Make sure that you run your engine a few minutes prior to changing the oil. This will allow the sump pumps to recover as much of the oil to the tank as possible as well as making the old oil a bit more free flowing.

The oil filter can be difficult to spin off by hand. There are oil filter wrenches that will do the job nicely, but every garage already has a "universal" oil filter wrench.....its called a screwdriver. Just hammer it through the old filter and twist. The Rocket filter is in such a location that this technique works well. Just be sure the drain pan is underneath first.

come ove for a few beers you guys I learn a lot better when I am showen how to do it, I'll get any beer you guys want:) All these tricks cool where were you guys when I was younger:)

You can also use a pipe wrench without punching holes. I prefer to use a 64.5mm 14-point socket (filter socket). That works really well.:D
