Oil change frequency???

HeR3tic, I discovered the wire radiator protector noise long ago & used a portion of the windshield trim (came with the Windscreen from Triumph) and slipped it down over the shielding/trim low & center of the radiator. That took care of that noise.

Now, as I coast down the alley to get to the street, I can here a "tinny" rattle coming from beneath, at least I think it's from down under. Anyway, I need to change oil & filter before the Smashville trip so I'll do a thorough check.

See lots of you guys :) (and gals :p) there!

At a rate of 12-15k miles per year, with filter "change" at 3k that is 4-5 times per year: That's how much for cost of paper filters; and, how much for the cost and hassles of finding replacements? Break even should be about two years? Not to mention the superior filtration properties of the Scotts Filter (35 micron). I'll be way ahead in the end;)

Rusty: becareful now, you don't want to give the impression you're pinching pennys. Using leftover trim in lieu of high dollar bling to fix a rattle will label you as miserly :) Be sure to check those button head bolts holding the chrome radiator surround on. I just recently noticed the front fender nose "embellisher" has a ever so tiny bit of flex, of the rearward projections, and the resulting squeak across the underlying paint at the forward fixing area. A rubber grommet/washer on the underside, on the fixing bolt, may eliminate the noise. Alabama railroad crossings will jarr your eye teeth loose. :( Where's my Mydol.

Bring your Mydol to Smashville. It will go lovely with beer. Talk about a morning hangover. Oh, wait, you are bringing your wife.....Scratch the mydol.:D

She'll have good company. I will have 2 other riders with me and one is a girl and yes, the girl will be on her own bike.....yikes, a Harley Softail Classic. This girl has put more miles on her Harley than I put on a car. If I remember correctly she is substantially over 100K. (miles that is).:D
