As Walleye stated, just the full-fledged upgrade kit. Not just the output shaft bearing, not new second gear, etc. The upgrade kit that includes everything: spark plugs, plug wires, upper wiring harness, second gear, output shaft bearings, gear position sensor etc.
Maybe the last option in the voting box should say "no problems with my ride so far". I'd be curious at what mileage that the upgrades took place, or the most miles someone had before the upgrade took place. Maybe then you could get a since of being " out of the woods" so to speak on ever needing the upgrade. I hear of this just often enough that I get the feeling of being on a ticking time bomb.
My 06 std is being upgraded as we speak at 20 k miles. It includes everything. No charge. The only bad thing about it is the down time. I miss the monster sooooooo much even though she's been gone only been a couple of weeks. Tried riding my Harley yesterday and it was much less than a fulfilling experience. Since being so spoiled by the R3, I'd quit riding altogether if I didn't have a Rocket. No kidding. BTW, anybody want a real clean custom FXR powered by an 1800cc EVO?
Mine's still chugging along with about 46,000 miles on it..
I do have another idle issue, but it's minor and not that often. Occaisionally, it likes to idle at 1,000 RPM. I'm going to take a look at it soon and see if there's just something keeping the butterflies from closing all the way.. It's not the same as the TPS problem, just an annoying problem that occurs sometimes, but I can't duplicate it at will..
pig9r you mentioned a upper wiring harness as part of the upgrade kit.I have been having a reoccuring starting issue my dealer cant seem to fix.I think it may be related to this .my dealer replaced my starter for almost 800.00 dollars .the problem was not fixed. while my bike was in the shop the tech found a connector under the tank that he claimed was the problem.after cleaning and repacking withdielectric grease the problem seemed to go away, but has returned.my question is does anyone know what the wiring in the upgrade kit repairs. and how does the bike act when the wiring is bad. my bike at times will just click and not start as if the starter or solinoid were bad. it will start after fiddling with it, but im afraid of getting stuck. any help would be greatly appreciated.
