I am with you! I Just got past my break in mileage and really like how it has smoothed out. The trips up to the red line are a real eye opener!

I'm picking mine up today from it's 600 miles service (more like 1,300 by the time it got to the dealer)... The bill for sure stung!!!

I would have thought all of the things they were to do in the scheduled service (except for oil change) would have been covered in the bike purchase just because it's all in the "break-in / make sure we got it" right category.

First service is mainly oil change. The rest is visual inspections and making sure nothing is loose.......I refused to let the dealer touch it....well....because they were morons.
Put the Mobil 4T in with new filter from Flipmeister.......looked in manual and performed all the "checks" required......Havent had an issue yet....(knock on wood).
I just changed my oil again at 7500 miles (my choice...manual states 10000). And its a piece of cake if you have ever done one on a car or bike.
But something to be said about taking it to dealer.. Some people do not like messing with their bikes....I never worried about warranty because I documented and saved receipts....as it turned out my 2yrs was up in a hurry and no more worries!

I had a laundry list of all the stuff that I thought was wrong with it from them, headlights aimed wrong, low fluid in front brake master, you know, little things it should have never gotten out of the door with. Tonight, I will aim the headlights myself to suit me. The rest they tightened up and did their oil change at 15.00 dollars a quart . Next oil change I will do, if I do it before 10K, which I probably will. Will need to change it in the spring.

My dealer only charged $12.99 / quart and compared to on-line prices - they were priced the same. Same on the oil filter. Total was $78 for the oil change - not really bad...

Paying the $160 for inspections on things that I consider "make sure the factory got it all tightened down and it's still holding at the initial shake down" - that part sucked..

The ride home remembering why I purchased the Rocket is priceless.

Saw my first rocket in "the wild" yesterday leaving the dealer since I've gotten my bike. Older Classic with Batwing fairing and bags. Exchanged nods of approval towards each other and a thumbs up.

Its been years sense a Triumph Dealer has touched mine. Not that I am complaining they are honest with me and say I should take the bike to NASA for upkeep :D
